Why Muslims?

Key 1: Recognize The Need

This is a map of London, England. The red dots are Mosques; Islam is growing in Europe at an exponential rate, and has been for several years. It isn’t improbable that this could someday be San Diego, New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Philadelphia or Phoenix.

 

If we don’t rise out of nominal Christianity, equip ourselves with the full armor of God, and begin sharing the love of Christ with our Muslim neighbors, we will lose our country. Daniel Massieh feels this verse (2nd Kings 7:9) applies to us today:

 

Besides, who could stand to keep The Gospel hidden? If you had a secret that would save a friend’s life, would you keep it to yourself? Of course not! We’ve been given the free gift of eternal life! Let us put aside our selfish hindrances and share this secret. Muslims are the largest unreached people­ group in The World. There is one missionary for every one million Muslims. OTG seeks to change that.

Key 2: Pray

The Scriptures tell us that the “fervent prayers of a righteous man avail much”. We need to pray regularly that the powerful Light of the Gospel will penetrate Islam so that all whom “God has called will be saved.”

 

Open the Gates invites you to set aside one day each week to pray for the Muslim world. If you can, make Friday at noon your special time to pray for the descendants of Ishmael. Friday Islam’s Holy day. It is on Fridays, at noon, that Muslims worldwide gather in local mosques to seek Allah’s favor.

 

Here are a few suggestions as you pray:

• Pray that the Holy Spirit will break the intense barriers and strongholds that keep Muslims from seeking and finding the Truth.
• Pray that God will raise up workers and evangelists who will lead many Muslims to Christ.
• Pray that God will continue to reveal Himself to Muslims through miracles, healings, and dreams.
• Pray that Christians will resist a spirit of fear (and condemnation) towards Muslims and instead truly exemplify the Love of Christ.
• Pray that God will give understanding and courage to Muslims who desire to know the Truth.
• Pray that all those whom God is pursuing will find Him, making a full surrender to Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
• Pray that God powerfully protects and sustains each new believer.
• Pray that they are discipled and firmly established in the faith.

The Muslims who live in the United States are hungry for fellowship. They need help adjusting to American society and culture.
