COVID-19 has affected many people in every level of life, and whatever I say will not be enough to express the fear, the loss, and financial devastation that this pandemic has caused.  The good news is God is raising up many people like Gideon  who threshed wheat in the winepress to give to His people during the time of fear and lock down. (Judges 6:11)

Open the Gates ministry started a campaign last month to help 20 refugee families from the Middle East. We are pleased and humbled to report this effort has made a positive impact on many people’s lives. A couple named Moon and his wife, who are both over 60 years old,  came to America three months ago from Iraq, with no relatives or friends in the area. When our representative Rafid arrived at their home with plenty of donated food, towels, toilet paper, other supplies and a table, they were shocked and asked if they needed to pay him back. He told them of course not, these things show the love of Jesus, and our love for you. They said, “Since we came to America no one has knocked on our door. You are the first one.”  Wow! Praise the Lord! This story is similar to mine when I came to California and heard knocking on my door. I was amazed when James and Janet were there with a lot of gifts for my family.
